Born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr., in 1942, the three-time world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, known for his lyrical charm and boasts as much as for his powerful fists, has moved far beyond the boxing ring in both influence and purpose.
Nicknamed "The Greatest", Ali was involved in several historic boxing matches. Notable among these are three with rival Joe Frazier and one with George Foreman, whom he beat by knockout to win the world heavyweight title for the second time. He suffered only five losses with no draws in his career, while amassing 56 wins (37 knockouts and 19 decisions). Ali was well known for his unorthodox fighting style, which he described as "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee", and employing techniques such as the rope-a-dope.
Since he retired from boxing, Ali has devoted himself to humanitarian endeavors around the globe. He has traveled the world over, lending his name and presence to hunger and poverty relief, supporting education efforts of all kinds, promoting adoption and encouraging people to respect and better understand one another. It is estimated that he has helped to provide more than 22 million meals to feed the hungry. Ali travels, on average, more than 200 days per year.
Artist Joe Petruccio
Whether you are a music lover, sports fan or just appreciate good art, you will love Joe Petruccio's work. During the past several years, Petruccio has risen to celebrity status himself becoming the premier entertainment fine art artist. He was recognized by CNBC as "one of the best known celebrity artists in the world" with his work hanging in the collections of Muhammad Ali, Sylvester Stallone, Dickey Betts (Allman Bros), Tiger Woods, and over 75 other celebrities.
Joe's accolades are endless. He was the first and continues to be an approved artist for Elvis Presley Enterprises. In addition, he is also an approved artist for Muhammad Ali Enterprises, LLC and both Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods gave their seal of approval on hand-signed limited editions created from his original artwork, which resulted in his first officially licensed Upper Deck Authenticated pieces.
Ask Joe where the power comes from in his images, and he'll tell you, "I want to give the viewer of my work the best seat in the house." The Pop Culture Vault is honored to represent Joe Petruccio and be able to offer collectors original and limited edition artwork from Joe Petruccio.
